Jon Swinburne goes scrambling

Here he describes the intermediate position of scrambling between climbing and hiking. I haven’t done anything similar for a long time, but I appreciate the way he writes about those crucial and critical moments when things could go one way or another. I remember being on a precipice, for example, and looking down to see a child in a distant village looking up at me, with storm clouds coming in from the west. You get something of the same feeling when you take that Frostian “road less travelled.”
